Pantera Capital Partners with S&P Dow Jones Indices to Launch S&P Pantera Digital Assets Index, Focusing on Income-Generating Crypto Assets, Excluding Bitcoin and XRP
Launched on July 20, the index aims to address institutional investors' complaints about the lack of attractive index products for cryptocurrency investments. Its inclusion criteria include generating positive protocol revenue for several consecutive quarters, with revenue attributable to token holders through buybacks, staking, or distributions; it also requires cryptocurrencies to be listed on regulated exchanges and have a circulating market capitalization exceeding $500 million ($250 million for existing constituents). The index initially includes 18 assets, with Ethereum, BNB, Solana, TRON, and Hyperliquid being the top five holdings. Bitcoin and XRP are excluded because Bitcoin does not generate revenue, and XRP may not meet the protocol revenue requirements.
