Bitcoin Rises 0.9% to $64,700, Ether Also Gains as Traders Seek Safety in Largest Tokens While Altcoins Struggle
Bitcoin (BTC) has gained approximately 0.9% in the past 24 hours, reaching $64,700, while Ether (ETH) also saw positive movement. These two largest cryptocurrencies are the only CoinDesk 20 members in positive territory, as altcoins fall out of favor. Altcoin open interest has declined about 15% over the past month, during which Bitcoin gained roughly 8%. Analysts attribute this divergence to Bitcoin's integration into capital markets through ETFs and institutional hedging, a transition most altcoins have yet to make.
