U.S. Vice President Vance stated in an interview with Fox News on August 8 that the U.S.-Iran conflict has entered its "mid-game," and that the U.S. is employing a comprehensive approach involving diplomatic, economic, and military means, while also focusing on increasing oil and gas shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. On the same day, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Zolgadr, presented six conditions to the U.S. as prerequisites for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. These conditions include never threatening Iran, ending all aggression, lifting the maritime blockade, withdrawing military forces, compensating for war damages, lifting all sanctions, and unconditionally unfreezing all frozen assets. According to CNN, U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Kaine, is privately seeking an "exit strategy" for the Iran conflict, citing limited effectiveness of airstrikes and dwindling ammunition stockpiles.
