South Korea's Kospi index rose 1.2% on Tuesday, with Samsung Electronics up about 5%, as sentiment in the tech sector stabilized; oil prices rose for a fourth consecutive day, rekindling inflation concerns, while gold fell 0.3% to $4376/ounce.
Driven by relatively optimistic sentiment in the technology sector, South Korea's Kospi index rose 1.2% on Tuesday, with Samsung Electronics gaining approximately 5%, boosted by expectations of shareholder returns and export data. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil prices rose for the fourth consecutive trading day, stabilizing around $87.75 per barrel on Tuesday, reigniting inflation concerns and leading to a decline in Asia-Pacific bonds alongside U.S. Treasuries. Beth Hammack, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, stated on Monday that multiple interest rate hikes might be necessary to bring inflation down to target levels, further intensifying vigilance against interest rate risks. Affected by this, gold fell 0.3% to $4376 per ounce on Tuesday. Investors are closely watching the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) report to be released this Wednesday for guidance on the Federal Reserve's future interest rate path.
