Three companies jointly developed this architecture through the Open Compute Project (OCP) and released a joint white paper in March 2026, followed by the LVDC Solid State Transformer Specification v0.3 in July. Currently, over 80 equipment manufacturers and infrastructure companies are developing products based on this specification. NVIDIA stated that its MGX-compatible 800 VDC power rack will be launched in the second half of 2026, aiming to bring next-generation rack-level computing performance to existing facilities through a hybrid architecture, without requiring changes to the building's electrical system.
