A Yahoo Finance analysis article pointed out that Tesla (TSLA) stock was severely overvalued at $332.81. The article argued that the market is pricing Tesla as an AI platform with a P/E ratio of 304x, but 71% of its Q2 2026 revenue comes from its automotive business with a profit margin close to 1%. Although Tesla's stock has fallen 26% year-to-date, its forward P/E ratio of 169x still factors in perfect performance from its unproven Robotaxi and Optimus businesses. Morgan Stanley previously called for Tesla to provide clearer evidence of the scalability of its Robotaxi project, while Polymarket traders estimate only a 15% chance of Optimus being launched by year-end. Tesla's Q2 2026 EPS was $0.33, lower than market expectations of $0.5367, operating profit fell 57% to $398 million, operating profit margin compressed to 1.4%, and free cash flow turned negative at $1.09 billion.
