ArcelorMittal S.A., a steel manufacturer, is expanding its partnership with Microsoft (Microsoft Corporation) by incorporating Microsoft Fabric, Purview, and Foundry into its Azure-based "cloud-first, data-center" strategy, Reuters reported on August 3. The move aims to modernize IT systems and embed artificial intelligence across its global operations. Nik Puri, ArcelorMittal's Chief Information Officer, stated that this initiative is designed to fundamentally reshape its IT operating model, integrating data and AI into the core of IT. Although financial terms were not disclosed, Microsoft executives believe this demonstrates that large enterprises are moving AI from experimental stages to core business building.
