Global equities were higher on Wednesday, with MSCI's gauge of stocks across the globe rising 0.37%. US stocks also gained, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.10%, the S&P 500 added 0.31%, and the Nasdaq Composite traded up 0.65%. This came as US consumer prices increased by a modest 0.1% in July, aligning with expectations and easing some concerns about a Federal Reserve rate hike. Gold prices rose 1.61% to $4,436.99 an ounce, benefiting from reduced rate hike bets. Meanwhile, oil prices dipped despite ongoing US-Iran talks, which remained deadlocked, and reports of separate ship attacks. Brent crude futures fell 0.26% to $88.68 per barrel, and US crude fell 0.49% to $82.79.
