Ukrainian authorities stated that Russian forces attacked the port infrastructure of Izmail in Ukraine's southern Odesa region early Thursday, causing damage and sparking fires. Izmail port is Ukraine's largest Danube port, handling grain and other bulk commodities. This attack followed a day after Kyiv struck Russia's Novorossiysk port.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy told CNN that Ukraine needs 5% of the US's "Patriot" interceptor missile stock to survive the winter, and 10% would be enough to destroy all Russian ballistic missiles. He noted that Ukraine's supply of "Patriot" interceptor missiles was diverted since the US went to war with Iran in February, leading to a severe shortage. Ukraine has 2.5 times fewer interceptor missiles this year than in 2025, while Russia is launching twice as many ballistic missiles per month as before. The Ukrainian Air Force stated that it would stop publishing detailed data on Russian ballistic missile attacks due to the difficulty in intercepting increasingly frequent Russian strikes.
