Bloomberg reported that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's government supports the Bank of Japan (BOJ)'s recent interest rate hike, and sources familiar with the matter revealed that the Bank of Japan (BOJ)'s next interest rate hike is likely to occur in September or October. Following this news, the Japanese Yen against the US Dollar saw a rapid short-term appreciation of 20 pips. The market's pricing for a Bank of Japan (BOJ) rate hike at its September 18 policy meeting has now risen to 74%. If another rate hike occurs in September or October, it would mark the Bank of Japan (BOJ)'s third rate hike within 12 months, the fastest tightening pace since 1989.
