Human rights organizations and monitoring bodies indicate that Israel is systematically and extensively crushing, mixing, and removing millions of tons of rubble from the Gaza Strip. The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reports that this action may be aimed at demographic engineering, destroying evidence of war crimes, permanently altering the local landscape to prevent Palestinians from returning home, and even paving the way for the reconstruction of Israeli settlements. It is estimated that there are approximately 68 million tons of rubble in the Gaza Strip, of which at least 10 million tons have been removed or processed. Around 100 trucks daily transport rubble out of the Gaza Strip to undisclosed locations in Israel and the occupied West Bank. Budour Hassan, a researcher at Amnesty International, stated that this could be an attempt by Israel to deliberately destroy evidence of crimes committed during the war.
