Yahoo Finance analysis indicates that the Strategy Shares Gold Enhanced Yield ETF (GOLY) aims to provide investors with gold exposure and monthly income through a leveraged swap structure. However, during a roughly 6% decline in the gold market by mid-2026, GOLY's leveraged positions, combined with rising financing costs, resulted in a year-to-date loss of 21%. Furthermore, the fund's monthly dividend decreased from $0.160667 per share in February 2026 to $0.106792 in July, a drop of 30.4%. In contrast, SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), which tracks physical gold, saw a year-to-date increase of 0.55% during the same period.
