Reddit's inclusion in the S&P 500 follows the acquisition of AvalonBay Communities by Equity Residential Properties Trust (EQR). JPMorgan estimates index funds tracking the S&P 500 will need to purchase approximately 16.7 million Reddit shares, nearly three times its average daily trading volume since its March 2024 IPO.
