Washington is preparing to warn partner countries against joining competing Chinese AI initiatives, according to Reuters. Countries aligned with the U.S.-led Pax Silica framework could risk exclusion if they also participate in Beijing’s coalition. The strategy aims to secure AI chips, models and critical-mineral supply chains as Chinese open-weight models gain ground against U.S. rivals.
