Iran's Brig Gen Mohammad Bagherzadeh stated in a letter to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) that three pilots—Javad Salehi, Abdul Majid Dashtian, and Imran Behroshian—have been held captive for six months, and the body of a fourth pilot, Majid Kazemi, was returned after he was killed in the same operation. Qatar's foreign affairs spokesperson Majed Mohammed Al Ansari "categorically denied" the claims, stating that contact was made with the pilots after they violated Qatari airspace, and search and rescue teams recovered the remains of one pilot, which Qatar offered to hand over to Iran.
