Goldman Sachs reported that global debt issuance declined 16% year-over-year last week. However, year-to-date issuance is still up 9%. Investment-grade corporate issuance saw a significant jump of 60%, while high-yield debt dropped 41% and leveraged loans plunged 88%. Financial-sector issuance rose 38%, but structured finance fell 64%. Meanwhile, assets in S&P and MSCI-linked ETFs continued strong growth, increasing by 32% and 36% respectively.
