Paramount seeks $1.88 billion bond from state AGs to cover costs of Warner Bros. Discovery merger delay
Paramount is requesting the bond from states that filed a lawsuit in July to challenge its proposed $110 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). The company had agreed last month to delay the acquisition until as late as June 2027 while the state attorneys general's case proceeds to trial. The delay could incur significant costs, including a "ticking fee" of approximately $650 million per quarter payable to WBD shareholders, starting September 30.
