Global bond and stock markets weakened simultaneously, affected by the continuous sell-off of US government bonds, rising oil prices, and escalating geopolitical tensions. The US 30-year government bond yield rose to 5.32%, its highest level since June 2007. Japan's 30-year government bond yield increased by 6 basis points to 4.135%. Former President Donald Trump stated his intention not to extend the expiring US-Iran agreement, leading to renewed tensions in the Middle East. Brent crude rose 0.6% to $91.45 per barrel, exacerbating market concerns about persistently high inflation. Gold dropped 0.6% to approximately $4390 per ounce, while silver fell over 1%.
