Israeli strike reportedly kills at least six in Gaza City amid stalled ceasefire efforts
The attack on Tuesday hit a crowded cafe in Gaza City's port, which has been turned into a displacement camp, injuring 14 others. The Israeli army stated it was targeting Hamas commanders, but provided no evidence. Hamas condemned the strike, which occurred as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to reject a US-backed peace plan, insisting the military will not withdraw from Gaza unless Hamas disarms. Hamas maintains it will only disarm after an Israeli withdrawal. The strike also followed an unsuccessful visit by US envoy Jared Kushner to advance Washington's peace plan.
