According to Yahoo Finance, citing an analysis by The Motley Fool, SpaceX (SPCX) shares surged to over $225 after its IPO in June but then pulled back, rebounding to near its opening price of $150 as of August 17. The analysis points out that based on historical data research of about 30 tech companies' performance in their first year post-IPO, the median maximum decline in their stock price during the first year of listing was 54%. Based on this, analysts predict that SpaceX's stock price could trade in a range of $100 to $170 over the next 12 months, with a median return of negative 9% (based on an issue price of $135) and an average return of 14%.
