Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan believes investors may be underestimating future blockchain transaction activity by 10 to 100 times, driven by tokenized markets and AI agents.
Hougan, in a note outlining common investor mistakes, argued that moving traditional assets on-chain and introducing AI agents could significantly increase transactions. He cited the potential for 24/7 trading of tokenized stocks and AI agents making trades, which could expand the market for crypto applications beyond current crypto assets to include global stocks and bonds, currently valued at $150 trillion and $350 trillion respectively.
