Oklo (NYSE: OKLO) went public in May 2024 through a SPAC merger, while X-Energy (NASDAQ: XE) listed in April this year. Both companies are dedicated to developing next-generation nuclear energy technologies, but their reactor designs have not yet received commercial deployment approval from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Oklo anticipates its first Aurora Powerhouse reactor will achieve criticality around Q1 2027; X-Energy's XE-100 reactor project, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy and Dow Chemical, is not expected to begin construction until at least Q1 2027.
