Chip stocks were under pressure and fell on Wednesday, with Dell and Seagate seeing significant declines; analysts remain optimistic about the future market.
Semiconductor stocks faced renewed pressure on Wednesday (August 19) as the AI trade lost some of its luster and investors rotated into other areas of the market. Among them, server manufacturer Dell Technologies saw its shares fall by 6.6%, Seagate Technology Holdings by 7.9%, Western Digital by 6.9%, SanDisk by 3.5%, and Micron Technology also experienced a slight decline. Analysts noted that previous short-term pressure on semiconductor stocks had created opportunities for dip-buying investors, thus maintaining an optimistic outlook for the future market.
