Australia's Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed "outrage" over Israel's decision not to prosecute those responsible for the death of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom, who was killed in a Gaza airstrike in April 2024. Wong stated the decision "falls far short of the accountability we expect" and announced she would summon the Israeli ambassador. She added that the outcome was "especially insulting" as it occurred on World Humanitarian Day, despite Israel Defense Forces (IDF) admissions that the strikes were due to "serious failures to follow IDF procedures, mistaken identification and errors in decision-making."
