Crypto industry leaders warn: AI agents could dwarf current multi-billion dollar crypto hacks
Ryan Kirkley, CEO of Global Settlement Network, stated at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026 that AI agents could enable hackers to breach Wi-Fi networks, passwords, and wallets on an unprecedented scale, making current "bridge attacks" seem insignificant. Bill Laboon, VP of Technical Operations at Web3 Foundation, and Fahmi Syed, President of Midnight Foundation, expressed similar concerns. Industry leaders believe that trust, AI hallucination issues, and unclear legal liabilities are the biggest obstacles to the widespread adoption of AI agents.
