Hypersonic missile startup Castelion completes $1 billion Series C funding at a $13 billion valuation.
The funding round was co-led by JPMorgan Chase's Strategic Investment Group, Andreessen Horowitz, and funds managed by Carlyle, comprising $800 million in equity financing and a $250 million revolving credit facility. Castelion plans to use these funds to expand its manufacturing capabilities for the Blackbeard hypersonic strike missile, accelerate the development of longer-range precision strike weapons, and build air and missile defense systems. The company expects the Blackbeard missile to be operational by 2027 and has already secured over $500 million in contracts from government agencies, including the U.S. Navy.
