Japan's trade ministry will seek an additional $944 million (150 billion yen) for homegrown chipmaker Rapidus in the fiscal 2027 budget.
The investment aims to boost Rapidus' capital to encourage lending by top banks, as the company targets mass production of 2-nanometer chips by fiscal 2027.
