The White House announcement noted that under President Donald Trump and Republican leadership, South Carolina has achieved several accomplishments. These include the largest tax cuts for working families and seniors in a generation, with an average refund of $3,476; a more than 18% decrease in homicides statewide in 2025, followed by another 21% drop in the first half of 2026; and attracting billions of dollars in private investment, such as NorthMark Strategies' $2.8 billion high-performance computing center project and Octapharma's $1.5 billion critical care manufacturing facility project.
