Berkshire Hathaway's second-quarter earnings report shows the company made $23.5 billion in marketable equity purchases, marking the first time Berkshire has been a net buyer of stocks since 2022. These investments include Alphabet, Lennar, and D.R. Horton (new positions), as well as three Japanese trading companies. Among them, the investment in Alphabet was the largest, comprising a $10 billion private placement and an additional $5 billion to $7 billion in purchases, making it Berkshire's third-largest marketable equity investment.
