Goldman Sachs research predicts a surge in US data center power demand, making Vistra a winner in the AI power boom through long-term power supply agreements with Amazon and Meta, and participation in AI data center platforms invested in by NVIDIA and others.
Goldman Sachs research estimates that U.S. data center electricity demand will double from 31 gigawatts (GW) in 2025 to 66 GW in 2027. Vistra, as an independent power producer, has signed 20-year long-term power purchase agreements with Amazon Web Services and Meta Platforms, supplying 1,200 megawatts and 2,609 megawatts of electricity, respectively. Additionally, in June this year, Vistra, together with KKR, NVIDIA, and the Kuwait Investment Authority, launched Helix Digital Infrastructure, aiming to develop AI data centers and securing $10 billion in investment, with Vistra becoming the preferred power supplier for the platform.
