Aditya Birla Renewables (ABRen), a subsidiary of Grasim Industries, has secured a $1.6 billion (INR 153.17 billion) term loan from MUFG to complete its acquisition of Solenergi Power Private (including the Sprng Energy group of companies). This acquisition will expand ABRen's renewable energy portfolio to 9.3 GWp, making it one of India's largest integrated clean energy platforms. The transaction, expected to close by the end of 2026, is valued at approximately INR 173.22 billion and is being financed through a mix of debt (including the MUFG loan) and equity investments from Grasim Industries and funds managed by Blackrock's Global Infrastructure Partners.
