Analysis indicates that Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) are currently the only asset guaranteeing a positive real yield.
This analysis, based on August 20th data, indicates that with current core PCE inflation at 3.3% and a 32% tax rate, the real after-tax return on a savings account is negative 0.72%.
