Oil prices fell, with both WTI and Brent crude October contracts dropping by about 3%, as investors focused on Middle East peace talks.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures for October delivery fell by approximately 3% to $82.44 per barrel on Tuesday, Eastern Time, while Brent crude oil futures for October delivery dropped slightly over 3% to $89.34 per barrel, both reaching a two-week low. WTI crude recorded its largest single-day decline in three weeks. Investors shifted their focus to negotiations between Iran and Pakistan aimed at ending the Middle East war, rather than U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's "economic D-Day" remarks concerning Iran.
