Alibaba's Q1 FY2027 (ending June 30) earnings report shows that its AI cloud and computing services revenue increased by 45% year-over-year to RMB 48.4 billion (approximately $7.1 billion), with adjusted EBITA growing by 133% year-over-year to RMB 5.6 billion ($830 million). The company is accelerating its AI transformation, with capital expenditures surging by 75% to RMB 67.7 billion in the latest quarter, and a commitment to invest RMB 380 billion ($56.5 billion) in AI and cloud infrastructure by 2029. Management expects this investment to break even within approximately three years.
