Alphabet's Waymo announced plans to roll out robotaxi rides in Germany in 2027, making it the company's third international market and first in the EU. Waymo will begin phased testing in Munich over the next few weeks, with a public launch planned for the end of next year. The company aims to build high-definition street maps, train autonomous specialists, and adapt its software to Munich's distinct driving conditions. Waymo currently operates in 11 U.S. cities and has previously announced expansions into London and Tokyo.
