This move indicates that despite the U.S. placing Huawei on the Entity List since 2019, restricting its cooperation with American suppliers such as Google, Huawei's technology is still being adopted overseas. The agreement follows a patent dispute between HP, Huawei, and other companies, which was resolved last fall with an agreement allowing HP access to a patent pool containing 2,000 patents related to wireless network connectivity. Huawei is one of the founding members of this patent pool, named Sisvel WiFi 6. Huawei's negotiator, Steven Geiszler, stated that the latest global cross-licensing agreement also includes "valuable reciprocal patent rights for HP."
