CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, plans to launch wind power futures and options contracts, which will be cash-settled and are awaiting regulatory review. These new instruments will be based on indices provided by Vaisala Xweather, tracking and settling the estimated wind power generation at specified locations, to help market participants manage wind power-related risks and further expand CME Group's market-leading energy product suite.
