Japan's Financial Services Agency Approves Nomura's Crypto Exchange Laser Digital Japan to List Shiba Inu (SHIB), SHIB Ends 11-Month Downtrend
Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) has registered Laser Digital Japan, the digital assets subsidiary of Nomura Securities, as a crypto-asset exchange service provider, marking Japan's first new exchange approval in four years. Shiba Inu (SHIB) is one of the six initial assets listed on the exchange, and the only memecoin among them. Following this news, SHIB's price closed above its 20-week moving average for the first time since September 2025, ending an 11-month downtrend. On-chain data shows that on August 24, an unknown wallet withdrew 280.8 billion SHIB, worth approximately $1.56 million, from OKX.
