Fintech company Revolut has started rolling out its euro-pegged stablecoin, EURR, to select customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The token is designed to maintain a value of 1 euro and has been integrated into Revolut's retail app, allowing customers to convert between euros and cryptocurrencies on-chain. EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Bridge entity that was acquired by Stripe in February 2025. Revolut stated that it expects a broader rollout across the European Economic Area later this year, with plans to introduce other currency-denominated tokens depending on regulatory readiness. European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde previously stated in May that euro stablecoins are not an effective way to strengthen the euro's international role, warning of risks such as structural weaknesses and redemption pressures.
