Amazon and NVIDIA announced on Wednesday an expanded partnership, with Amazon adding 2 million NVIDIA GPU chips to its data centers in 2027 and 2028, including the Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra series. This move comes amid surging demand for AI chips from startups, enterprises, AI labs, and even governments. The collaboration extends beyond chip procurement, integrating NVIDIA's networking hardware, open models, CPUs, data processing software, and robotics platforms into Amazon Web Services (AWS). Previously, Amazon had agreed five months ago to deploy over 1 million NVIDIA GPUs in its AWS infrastructure starting this year.
