Nikkei rises 0.7%, led by chip stocks, after strong NVIDIA results ease worries about AI spending sustainability
The Nikkei 225 rose 0.7% to 66725.13 points. Among them, Kioxia Holdings rose 5.9%, SoftBank Group rose 2.8%, and Tokyo Electron rose 3.0%. The USD/JPY exchange rate was 159.17, compared to 159.06 at the close of Tokyo trading on Wednesday. Investors are closely monitoring any developments in the Iran war and crude oil prices.
