Chinese AI company Z.ai shares surge over 8% after releasing new AI model GLM-5.3-Flash that it claims runs entirely on Chinese chips
The company stated it used 100,000 China-made chips to handle all online requests for GLM-5.3-Flash, which was stealth-launched globally a week ago on August 20 under the code name "Ox Alpha." The model ranked first by usage on the global OpenRouter platform last week. Z.ai's rival MiniMax also saw its shares climb around 3%.
