Alluvial Fund stated in its Q2 2026 investor letter that turbocharger manufacturer Garrett Motion (GTX) has seen a significant increase in its stock price, but its valuation remains reasonable.
The fund noted that 2026 is a "watershed year" for Garrett Motion, as investors begin to recognize the applications of its turbochargers beyond the automotive industry, including data centers and utilities, to improve energy efficiency and output. Garrett Motion's stock price has risen 108.64% over the past 52 weeks, but the fund stated it would closely monitor the situation and would not hesitate to sell if the stock price no longer offered attractive future returns due to excessive optimism. As of August 26, Garrett Motion's stock closed at $18.11, with a market capitalization of $3.46 billion.
