U.S. freight and logistics sector sees wave of bankruptcies from late July through August
At least 21 transportation and logistics-related companies, ranging from single-truck carriers to national distributors, sought Chapter 7 liquidation or Chapter 11 protection. Among the largest was BFG Supply Co. LLC, an Indianapolis-based distributor with estimated assets and liabilities between $100 million and $500 million, which filed for Chapter 11 on August 18.
