Greenlight Capital noted in its Q2 2026 investor letter that Stripe and Advent International reportedly made a joint offer of $60.50 per share to acquire digital payments platform PayPal after the quarter ended. Greenlight Capital initiated a position in PayPal at an average price of $43.53 per share, believing its payment assets were worth far more than its 8x P/E ratio. As of August 26, PayPal's stock closed at $61.68.
