LIV Golf faces existential liquidity crisis, hires restructuring advisers and drafts Chapter 11 bankruptcy plans
The professional golf league, launched in 2022 with the backing of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), is now considered a “distressed asset” as its initial “bottomless liquidity” has evaporated following a shift in sovereign mandate. To preserve cash, LIV Golf has also begun slashing costs, including canceling high-profile tournaments.
