Bank of China's total assets exceeded 40 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, with net interest margin stabilizing and rebounding to 1.27%.
Bank of China announced its interim results for 2026. As of the end of June, the Group's total assets reached RMB 40.19 trillion, an increase of 4.77% from the end of last year. In the first half of the year, operating income was RMB 357.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.41%; profit attributable to equity holders of the Bank after tax was RMB 123.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.10%. Amid widespread pressure on net interest margins in the banking sector, Bank of China's net interest margin in the first half of the year was 1.27%, up 1 basis point from the same period last year, mainly due to reduced funding costs. In addition, the non-performing loan ratio was 1.22%, down 0.01 percentage point from the end of last year.
