Brazil's Central Bank to implement real-time crypto monitoring system, requiring 24-hour hold on transfers over $10,000 from Jan 2027
The new system, developed with blockchain security company Hypernative, is expected to go live within two weeks. It aims to connect banks and domestic stock exchanges for round-the-clock surveillance of cryptocurrency transactions, following an estimated $180 million in crypto thefts in Brazil during 2025. The system will cover both major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and smaller memecoins.
