Huaxia Bank's H1 revenue increased by 12.71% to 51.308 billion yuan, but net profit fell by 18.35% to 9.365 billion yuan, due to a 58.49% surge in asset impairment provisions.
Huaxia Bank's 2026 interim report shows that its operating revenue for the first half of the year reached 51.308 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.71%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 9.365 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 18.35%. The main factor contributing to the profit decline was the increase in credit and other asset impairment losses, which surged by 58.49% year-on-year to 23.599 billion yuan. During the reporting period, the bank's net interest margin bucked the trend, rising by 0.05 percentage points to 1.59%, primarily due to a decrease in the average cost of interest-bearing liabilities. Specifically, the average cost of deposits decreased by 34 basis points to 1.34%. In terms of asset quality, the non-performing loan ratio for retail personal loans increased by 0.74 percentage points from the end of last year to 2.85%, and the common equity tier 1 capital adequacy ratio decreased from 9.38% to 8.84%.
