Analysis indicates that the S&P 500 index continues to hit new highs, but nearly 80% of its market capitalization growth since July 13 has been contributed by Microsoft and NVIDIA.
According to Yahoo Finance, citing Bespoke Investment Group analysis, the S&P 500's market capitalization has increased by $1.75 trillion since the Q2 earnings season began on July 13, with nearly 80% of that growth coming from the technology sector. Microsoft and NVIDIA alone accounted for a combined increase of $1.42 trillion in market cap, while the other 71 stocks within the technology sector collectively lost $22.3 billion.
